Wolf
For now, I'll be the slashing teeth— I’ll be the one to growl.
Ignore the pain beneath my eyes; see me as quick to bite, sure to howl.
You’ve changed so swiftly, so carelessly, I’ll be your shadow, I'll be your spite.
Turn away and transform— See me however you like.
Call me a wolf, yet leave me behind; The stain of your hypocrisy draws nigh.
With tears of ink, I’ve marked my soul; Surely, I’ve marked you, too.
but the drops you see as crimson wounds— Yes, I’ve bitten you through and through.
I tried my best to stay at your side, But a wolf cannot mimic a dog.
You seek the faint; I bring storms untied— So taste the rain and swallow the fog.
I’ve yearned for warmth beyond my reach— I’ve forgotten how to think.
My muzzle bound, Pain unbound, and I vanish in a blink.
