I Wait Among the Shores

Of dearest tears I've cried,

pearls upon pearls fall.

Small specks of gold fly about,

dust spread among the air.

How long have I waited by the shores,

looking far across the seas,

the horizons far in the distance,

but the waters reach only to the tips of my feet.

Your touch has brisked my skin,

your light has caressed my face.

I till the moment I see your eyes again

I stand here and wait.

Please,

Buy me by my weight in gold,

adorn my neck with strings of pearls,

let my tears be your water,

hear my cries as your melodies.

Here I wait among the shores,

as just another grain of sand

encompassing your waves, I pray

to once again hold your hand.
